ARC Laboratory Services provides rock density and porosity testing to AS 4133.2.1.1 using the caliper method. This test determines the dry density, saturated density, and porosity of intact rock specimens by precise dimensional measurement. Density and porosity are fundamental index properties used in geotechnical investigation, mining characterisation, and rock mechanics design. Results inform foundation and slope stability assessments, tunnelling design, and aggregate source qualification. Testing is conducted at our South Guildford laboratory and supports geotechnical and civil engineering projects across Australia.
