ARC Laboratory Services provides geotechnical rock testing to AS 4133, ISRM, and ASTM standards. Our mechanical testing covers Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) with and without Young’s Modulus to AS 4133.4.2.1, Point Load Index to AS 4133.4.1, and Brazilian Indirect Tensile Strength to ISRM methodology. We measure Ultrasonic Velocity to ASTM C597 for non-destructive assessment of rock integrity. For durability and classification, we conduct Slake Durability testing to AS 4133.3.4, Moisture Content to AS 4133.1.1.1, and Density and Porosity by the caliper method to AS 4133.2.1.1. Our Cerchar Abrasivity Index testing to ASTM D7625 quantifies rock abrasivity against steel, a key parameter for tunnel boring machine performance prediction and drill bit wear assessment. These tests support geotechnical investigations, mining, tunnelling, quarry source assessment, and civil design projects across Australia.
