ARC Laboratory Services provides a comprehensive range of aggregate shape testing to AS 1141 and Main Roads WA specifications. We determine Particle Shape by elongation ratio testing to AS 1141.14, available as both single ratio (2:1 or 3:1) and combined ratio (2:1 and 3:1) assessments. We measure Flakiness Index to AS 1141.15 and WA 216.1, and Angularity Number to AS 1141.16, both critical parameters for pavement layer performance and concrete workability. Average Least Dimension testing is available for aggregate greater than 10mm and for 5mm and 7mm fractions. We also assess Crushed Particles Derived from Gravel, which determines the proportion of mechanically fractured faces for road base and subbase approval. These tests are widely specified for road construction, asphalt mix design, and aggregate source qualification across Western Australia.
