ARC Laboratory Services provides rock strength testing to AS 4133 and ISRM standards. We conduct Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) testing to AS 4133.4.2.1, the most widely specified measure of intact rock strength used in geotechnical design, mining, and quarry source assessment. UCS with Young’s Modulus is also available for applications requiring dynamic or static deformation parameters alongside peak strength. Point Load Index testing to AS 4133.4.1 provides a rapid, cost-effective estimate of rock strength from core or lump specimens and is widely used for preliminary rock classification and in-field assessment. Brazilian Indirect Tensile Strength testing to ISRM methodology determines the tensile strength of rock, a critical parameter for pavement design, fragmentation assessment, and excavation engineering. These tests are routinely combined as a complete rock strength suite for geotechnical investigations, mining studies, and civil design projects across Australia.
